Mysterious disappearance of people 30,000 years ago Neanderthal was a tenacious enigma to researchers for decades. But now, according to an expert in fossils, seems pretty sure that this breed had a sinister end, was devoured by our ancestors.
Basis of such findings lies in the traces identified a Neanderthal mandibular bone, found in Les Rois, southwestern France, during a study coordinated by the Journal of Anthropological Sciences. The bone cuts are similar to the bones of deer and other animals slaughtered in the Stone Age people. It is believed that they ate their meat in their teeth and their neaderthalienilor made necklaces.

Research team leader, Fernano bite, National Center for Scientific Research in Paris said: “Neanderthals have had a violent end in our hands, and in some cases we ate. For many years, people have tried to hide from cannibalism, but I think we must accept that it happened. ”

Neanderthals lived across Europe starting about 300,000 years ago. They survived several ice ages before disappearing, 30,000 years ago, a period coinciding with the arrival of Homo sapiens in Africa.
